A speech-language pathologist (aka speech therapist) helps your child communicate effectively using clear speech sounds in words and sentences to share their thoughts. They help your child follow directions and respond to questions appropriately. They help children learn to tell about things (sequencing) that have happened in the past and future, to greet others, comment, and ask questions to initiate and maintain a conversation. To communicate we have to organize our thoughts, pay attention, remember, and plan all at the same time.
