RESCHEDULED: Interoception and Communication: Starting the School Year Well

Online | Online

Join us to discuss ways we can empower your child with tools and exercises to feel more comfortable in class room environments this school year!

Interoception is the sensory system that allows us to know what is happening inside our bodies. In autistic people, interoception signals can be confused or missed entirely – which can impact physical, communication, and emotional processing, especially in classroom settings.

Renowned autistic researcher and interoception expert Dr. Wenn Lawson will provide an introduction to interoception, describe how it impacts communication and the ability to recognize internal states that impact our external body states too, and provide guidance on interoception exercises that can empower your child to feel more comfortable in classroom environments.

Accessing autism resources can be a challenge, but it’s easier when you have partners and allies by your side. Connect with other parents, caregivers, and professionals in the autism community to share information, advice, and support. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive world for individuals with autism and their families.
