It is common for adults to search for answers to help motivate the Autistic child. There is no simple response to that question. This infographic is part 1 in a 3-part series, Motivating Your Autistic Child, where we look below the surface behaviours to identify the root causes of motivation challenges. This resource aims to change your understanding of motivation to change how you respond to and support a child experiencing this challenge.

Why is this so important? Children who cannot do what is asked of them are often mischaracterized as lazy or wilfully disobedient. This can impact their well-being, self-image, and mental health and deflect attention from the real cause by ‘blaming’ the child’s character.
